Pass System
We use an online care management system called Pass. This system allows staff to see their rota and document care notes via a secure app on their phone. This means that we see things in real time and can be responsive to any changes to service users needs. Staff have access to all relevant information and any changes are updated instantly. This ensures they are able to provide the right care in a way that is suitable to each individual
Notes can be accessed by agreed family members or other relevant persons using the OpenPass feature. This can offer peace of mind when its not possible to visit or speak to loved ones every day. To learn more about this feature please get in touch via our contact page.
We email a copy of the roster to service users or their designated contacts on a weekly basis. This allows people to see who will be supporting them and the times of the support for the coming week.
“Dalriada Care have been wonderful don’t know how we’d do without them. My mum likes and feels comfortable with her carers. They’re always kind, polite and respectful! They respect mum’s desire to remain as independent as she can. They check in with the family to ask if we’re happy with their service. There have been occasions when carers have gone above and beyond for my mum calling the doctor, staying with her a little longer if she’s been ill and keeping the family up-to-date. The OpenPASS system is fantastic I can check in on mum at any time and this has proved invaluable, gives us a wee diary of mum’s day. On the whole we are reassured by Dalriada and their staff are fantastic, kind, caring individuals”
Recruitment & Training
All our staff are recruited safely to ensure that we are employing the right people for the role. Staff are required to have a PVG and provide at least 2 references. Staff are also required to register with the SSSC.
Once recruited staff undergo a full induction and training process, including shadow visits where they work alongside an experienced staff member in the community. We have in-house practical training sessions, which compliments our online training system.
As well as all necessary mandatory training, staff are encouraged and supported to undertake additional courses which are specific to their service users needs. We use regular staff supervision and appraisals to identify any training needs. This ensures staff remain confident and competent in their role.
Staff are also supported to gain their relevant SVQ in Health & Social Care.
“There is an open door policy for all staff to speak to management, the training team and office management. Training is provided within the office training room and out in the community whenever staff have difficulties and all staff are actively encouraged to be open about concerns. Where there are training needs or interests staff are encouraged to learn more. Staff are advised any interests/training that is not provided to find the details, costs etc and management look at this. Everyone is encouraged to develop themselves.
