Scottish Care Membership

Today i met with Swaran Rakhra, who is the Membership Support Manager for Scottish Care. He brought me our welcome pack along with lots of reading material to get me up to speed on the fantastic work Scottish Care have been doing.

Scottish Care are known as "the voice of the independent care sector" and their objectives are (stolen directly from one of the posters i received in my welcome pack)...

• To develop a positive partnership with key stakeholders
• To support members in key areas of business & professional activity
• To effectively lobby, negotiate & represent the sector
• To ensure providers' ability to develop & deliver quality care services

They represent and offer support to a huge range of organisations of varying type and sizes, who deliver a wide range of registered services. 

After the Care Conference i attended in May, i decided that this was an organisation i wanted to be a member of! They are passionate about not only the people who receive care services, but also the workforce who provide those services. 

I'm looking forward to attending many more conferences, meetings and information sessions in the future.

I'm taking all my reports away with me to read by the poolside when I'm on holiday next week.
